My Summary
About Me
Hello! My name is Sky. I have a clear DBS check, first aid knowledge, and a strong background supporting children, especially those with additional needs. While I’m not formally qualified in childcare, I hold an MOI (Method of Instruction) in Special Educational Needs through the Air Cadets and a Level 2 qualification in training adolescents in the gym. I've also recently completed an Access to HE diploma in Allied Health Professions, reflecting my passion for care and wellbeing.
I’m patient, empathetic, and understanding — qualities supported by my own experience as an autistic person. I value routine, familiarity, and cleanliness, and love bringing a calm, creative approach to childcare. I'm particularly comfortable supporting children under 13 and offer babysitting, tutoring, and basic household help such as light cleaning and organising.
My Experience
Although I’m newer to formal childcare roles, I have hands-on experience supporting children in a variety of settings. I’ve delivered group gym training sessions for primary-aged children and worked one-on-one with a 13-year-old on strength and confidence building. I also spent over a year regularly babysitting a non-verbal 4-year-old boy, which helped me develop personalised communication tools, such as colour-coded cards and sensory routines, to support his needs.
As a sergeant in the Air Cadets, I was affectionately nicknamed "Mother Goose" for the way I cared for and supported younger cadets with SEN, a role I took great pride in. These experiences have built my confidence in adapting to each child’s individual personality, needs, and comfort zone.
My Qualifications
I have a well-rounded academic and practical background, particularly in health, fitness, and supporting children and young people:
Access to Higher Education Diploma – Allied Health Professions
Achieved 39 credits at Distinction and 6 at Merit. This Level 3 qualification covered psychology, mental health, pharmacology, lifespan development, infectious diseases, anatomy & physiology, and included Level 3-standard English and maths.
Extended Diploma in Personal Training for Health, Fitness and Performance (Merit)
Provided knowledge and practical skills in physical health, exercise science, and supporting wellbeing — especially useful for active and health-conscious families.
Active IQ Level 2 – Training Adolescents in the Gym
Specialist training on safe and age-appropriate exercise for young people.
Active IQ Level 3 – Training Pre- and Postnatal Clients
Understanding of physical and emotional changes during and after pregnancy, relevant when supporting families with newborns.
MOI (Method of Instruction) in Special Educational Needs – Air Cadets
Trained to support and communicate effectively with children and teens with additional needs.
Academic Background (GCSEs)
For families looking for tutoring alongside childcare, here are my GCSE results:
Sciences: Biology 8, Chemistry 8, Physics 8
Maths & English: Higher Maths 6, English Language 6, English Literature 5
Humanities & Arts: Geography 6, Art 7
Other: Sport Studies (Level 2 Merit)
My Availability

I’m fully available during school holidays, but please note I’m currently learning to drive and cannot offer school drop-offs or pick-ups.
Please note: I’m unavailable on Monday afternoons until early September due to a therapy appointment, but this will no longer affect my schedule from mid-September onward.
