My Requirements

We’re looking for a warm, reliable and experienced person to become a regular extra pair of hands for our family in Ashford.

We have two children, a baby girl and a 4-year-old boy who is at school during the day.

We’re ideally looking for around 8 hours of help each week, probably split across two weekdays during school hours, although we can be flexible for the right person. There may also be opportunities for occasional after-school help, evenings or babysitting if that suited both sides.

I’m currently on maternity leave and will often be at home, but I’d also like to be able to go to the gym, attend appointments, catch up on sleep or simply have some time to myself while knowing the baby is in safe hands.

The role would mainly involve helping with the baby during the day: feeding, changing, settling, playing, going for walks and generally taking over for a few hours. At times it might also involve our older son after school.

We’re not looking for a cleaner, but someone happy to muck in with the normal small jobs that come with looking after children, such as bottles, tidying toys or putting away children’s washing, would be ideal.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone kind, calm and confident with babies, who feels comfortable becoming a familiar and trusted person in our home rather than just providing occasional childcare.

We’d ideally like someone who can start fairly soon and are very happy to meet for a chat first and see whether we’re a good fit.
