About Me
My name is Katy, I’m a Pharmacy Dispenser and Body Piercer from Basingstoke and I have a 13 year old son called Stan, who I am struggling to watch grow up so quickly!
I have 5 younger brothers & sisters that, being the eldest, I helped raise, 2 nephews that are 8 & 11 and 4 step grandchildren between the ages of 3-13 that I adore and have looked after regularly since they were born.
As you can see, I have had a life times worth of experience with children of all ages and I’m not ready to give them up just yet. I love working in pharmacy, which I have done for 25 years, but I’m at my happiest when I am outside exploring nature with kids. I love teaching them and being creative with them, making them laugh and watching them learn. I would have loved to have had more children, but having split up with my sons father when I was pregnant, it is something that I knew I would not have been able to afford, if I wanted Stan to have the best life possible.
I have been a firm, but fair parent to my son, ensuring that he has grown up to be a disciplined, healthy, well mannered gentleman, that is aware of how his actions affect others and I am proud to say that he has grown into a loving, respectful and intelligent young man.
My Experience
Having been surrounded by children of all ages throughout my life, I feel that am I very experienced in childcare as a whole.
I have a deep understanding of what it takes to ensure the physical, mental and emotional well-being of a child and I am a naturally nurturing and maternal person who understands the impact that words and actions can have on a child, both positive and negative.
I am a firm believer that life is a journey, not a destination and that it’s the little, every day experiences that influence children and shape them as they grow.

10 GCSE’s A-C including Math & English

GNVQ Advanced Art & Design
Foundation Art & Design
HND (Higher National Diploma) in Construction
Pharmacy Dispenser NVQ 1 & 2
CPD in Safe Guarding Children, Infection Control, First Aid, Data Protection and loads more.
I am also a qualified body piercer and have pierced hundreds of children’s ears of all ages, from baby to adult.
I have a full UK driving licence, which I have had for around 25 years.
My Availability
I work 16 hours a week in the pharmacy, which is flexible, so with prior notice, I can also be flexible in which days and times I am available. I am looking for a few hours a day, but again, the amount of hours and times I can work is flexible.
I go away quite a lot for weekend breaks and I work one Saturday a month at the pharmacy, but I don’t mind babysitting on the odd evening, early morning or weekend if you want a night out or just a break!
