About Me
A friendly, outgoing, active and outdoorsy family with Dutch and English backgrounds, based in the Highgate/Dartmouth Park area (NW5) near Hampstead Heath.
We have two wonderful children: a son who is nearly 5 and a daughter who is nearly 3. They're funny, curious, affectionate little people, and honestly great company.
We're now looking for a part-time nanny to start as soon as possible, ideally in October. Our children have had quite a lot of change in the last couple of years, so above all we're looking for someone who wants to be part of their lives for the long term. We're asking for a minimum commitment of 12 months, and we'd love it to be much longer.
We love the outdoors and sports as well as arts and culture, and we want to give the children the chance to develop those interests and others, so it would be great if you share some of them.
We've previously travelled to the Netherlands and Switzerland with our nanny, and there's the chance to join us on occasional European trips if that appeals.
The role is live-out by default, but we can include private accommodation in central Hampstead as part of the package. We're flexible on this for the right person.
My Requirements
Part-time nanny for our two children (nearly 3 and 5), covering school and nursery pick-ups and afternoons.
Core hours (these need to be covered):
* Monday to Thursday: 2.30pm to 6pm
* Friday: 12pm to 6pm
That's around 20 hours a week. We'd ideally like a bit more, for example a regular weekly babysit and the occasional weekend slot. We're open to shaping the role around the right candidate.
School holidays: closer to full-time cover during holiday weeks, with some weeks off when we're away as a family. We would plan this together with you.
About you: warm, energetic, positive, reliable and organised, with solid experience of young children. You'd want to build a genuine long-term relationship with our family and play an active part in the children's development.
Both children are curious and highly communicative, with full credit to their previous nannies, and respond brilliantly to adults who really engage and listen. We'd love our next nanny to bring similar warmth, skill and curiosity into their lives (and ours).
About us: we both work in professional services, often long hours. Proactiveness and open, honest communication matter a lot to us.
Getting around: we don't have a car, but we do have a e-cargo bike. Being happy to ride it, or to learn, would be a real plus. Otherwise it's public transport. The role would suit someone reasonably local to North or North West London.
Openness to occasional European travel is a bonus. Additional languages are also welcome but not required.
