About Me
Hi! I am Laia, from Barcelona.
I am currently an after school nanny. I have worked in childcare for over three years. I started off as an au pair, progressively adding sittings to my routine whenever I had time off, and eventually I became a nanny.
I am a positive and active person with plenty of curiosity and who is always keen to learn. I am currently studying Computer Science, specialising in Cyber Sec. However my long term goal is to become a teacher.
As to why I am a nanny, I truly believe that I have a gift when it comes to childcare. I build strong bonds with the kids I look after based in trust, communication and of course lots of silliness!
I grew up with my brother (SEN) so I am highly aware of how this condition may shape a child’s life. This has allowed me to become a patient and empathetic person.
I believe that supporting a child’s growth is about showing them that I am able to listen and understand their feelings.
My Experience
As I have previously mentioned, I started as an au pair back in 2018 where I stayed for a whole year!
Moving forward to 2019 I decided to switch families and I found my next loving host family for the two following years!
In 2021 I started babysitting for local families which allowed me to build a lovely little net of amazing parents that often reach out to me.
At the moment I am an after school nanny in the Hampstead area.
My Qualifications
I have DBS check. I have also completed an English advanced (top-up) course in order to improve my skills.
