Hello! I’m Abi, an Ofsted registered childminder based in Bedwell, Stevenage. I offer a warm, nurturing home based childcare environment, just a short distance from Stevenage Town Centre and Stevenage Old Town. My goal is to provide a safe and engaging space where children can learn, play, and thrive.
With extensive experience caring for babies as young as 6 weeks up to children aged 8 years. My setting features a dedicated playroom that is both safe and stimulating, equipped with a variety of games, toys, books, music, painting supplies, and educational materials suitable for children from birth to 8 years. The spacious garden provides ample opportunities for outdoor play and exploration throughout the year.

I accept 15 to 30 hours free childcare funding through the government backed initiative “Childcare Choices” available to parents and carers through Hertfordshire County Council.
My Experience
Experience and Qualifications
With 15 years of dedicated experience in the childcare industry, I have extensive expertise in caring for babies from as young as 6 weeks and children up to 8 years old.
As a mother, my personal experience has helped me to enhance my understanding of the needs and routines of both young children and working parents. I am fully insured, first aid qualified, and DBS checked including all members in my household. My last Ofsted inspection was carried out in 2023 and rated as Good by Ofsted.
My Qualifications
First Aid qualified for all ages. Safeguarding Children. EYS curriculum course. Observation & Assessment in Children. Food Hygiene Awareness. Level 3 in Childcare qualifed.
My Availability
I currently have limited spaces available. My working hours are typically Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm.
My Fees
- Childminding from £7.25 per hour
£7.25 per an hour. Rate based on hours. 15-30 Hours. Free Childcare Funding Accepted.

My son has been attending Abi’s setting since he was 12 months old (and now he is 4)and Abi has created a second home for him. She is caring and children treat her as part of a family. My son is always smiling when he goes there for the day and is happy when I pick him up, telling me all about the activities they did during the day. Abi has a garden with lots of outdoor toys, which my son really enjoys and during summer it comes very handy.
I would recommend Abi to anyone looking for a warm and inviting environment for their child.

We have been absolutely delighted with our childminder. She is incredibly kind, caring, and understanding, and has always been flexible and accommodating to our needs. She provides a warm, welcoming, home-like setting where our child feels safe, happy, and well cared for. We really appreciate the genuine care and attention she gives and would highly recommend her to any parent looking for a wonderful childminder. My child took a while to settle in but Abi was very patient and understood his requirements and aversions. She is flexible and shows good communication. He was always excited to see his small friendship group and she is attentive to all.

A truly wonderful childminder. She is very caring and always keeps us updated about our child, which gives us great peace of mind. My son feels safe, loved, and happy in her care. He has learned so many new things, including numbers, poems, and various fun activities that support his development. She is completely trustworthy, and we feel very confident leaving our child with her. I wholeheartedly recommend her to any parent looking for excellent childcare.
