My Summary

My Experience

I have completed work experience in a primary school with children between the ages of 4-7. This included Being responsible for up to 30 children at any one time & caring for their wellbeing. Some of my responsibilities were 1:1 tutoring children, ensuring the children were eating lunches, & caring for children during any accidents on the playground or classroom.

I’m currently hired by Tradwind agency where I work across various SEN schools across Liverpool.

I was also a youth leader at my church for 2 years & would have the responsibility for children between the ages of 5-11. During my time leading I would deal with confrontation between children with a mature & responsible approach & I would enjoy fun activities with the kids.

Before moving away from home I was a regular babysitter for a family member where I would take on the responsibility for his children for up to 12 hours at a time & sometimes would have overnight stays. My responsibilities included getting the children showers, dressed & prepare breakfast. Occasionally I would have the responsibility of taking the kids to school & often I would have the responsibility of collecting them from school. I would do their homework with them & tutor them on areas of school they needed extra help with before cooking their dinner. Obviously there was always plenty of time for activities & snuggles before getting the children ready for bed!

I have recently completed a placement within my university working at an adult day care for disabled people & people with PMLD (profound multiple learning difficulties) although sometimes this was not easy, I enjoyed every minute & thanks to this placement I would consider myself confident if I were to be responsible for the well being of someone with PLMD again.

Through working at primary schools I have developed great skills for tutoring both phonics & math with a real enjoyment for teaching. I have experience with tutoring for a child age 8 :)

In the upcoming September, I will be doing my PGCE specialising with special needs
