About Me
My name is Claire and I have worked in childcare for over 24 years & I have loved every minute of it! I have a genuine love for children & really enjoy seeing them grow & develop & meet their individual milestones!
I live in South Queensferry with my husband Gordon who works for the University of Edinburgh.
I offer a childminding service in my home Monday to Thursday from 8am to 5pm although this can be flexible & I would be happy to discuss this in order to meet the needs of parents. I will walk children to and from Echline primary & Echline nursery school which is a 3 minute walk from my house.
My Experience
I am a qualified Nursery Nurse with an HNC in childcare & education. I have worked in childcare since the age of 16 as a babysitter & whilst at college I worked in the local youth centre as part of a team running a kids club for children aged 5 to 12 as well as in a single parent organisation where we run creche’s & a babysitting service. I have worked in Day Nurseries & have also worked as a Nanny for the last 24 years, 10 of those years were as a live-in nanny. I have now decided to move into childminding & as such I have successfully completed the Scottish Childminding Association, Childminding Induction Support Programme & officially started my childminding career in May 2022.

HNC in Childcare & Education. St Andrews Baby & Child First Aid. An Induction to Childminding. Child Protection in a Childminding Setting. Child-Led Planning. Infection Prevention & Control in Childcare Settings. Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety. The Business Side of Childminding.

Claire was an absolutely outstanding nanny to my two children from the ages of 1 and 3 to when they were 7 and 9. They absolutely adored her and regularly meet up with her now that she is no longer their nanny. My husband and I had absolute trust in Claire and were able to go off to work knowing that our boys were in the safest possible hands. Claire has since decided to become a childminder at her lovely happy home in South Queensferry.
