About Me

Hi, I’m Alex! ?

I’m a 22 year old and female, and I’m an experienced Early Years Practitioner currently working as a 1:1 Practitioner at Sunrise Day Nursery, where I support children with additional needs and help them to feel safe, included and able to thrive within the nursery environment.

I have worked in childcare since I was around 16/17 and have gained experience supporting children from babies through to preschool age. I currently hold a Level 2 qualification in Early Years and I am due to complete my Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification by September 2026. Once I have completed my Level 3, I plan to continue developing my knowledge through more specialist and tailored SEND training.

Supporting children with SEND and additional needs is a particular passion of mine. I enjoy getting to know each child as an individual, understanding how they communicate, what helps them regulate and how I can adapt activities, routines and the environment to help them take part successfully. I strongly believe that every child deserves to feel understood, supported and included. Before working in SEND I worked within a baby and toddler room too so am comfortable with children ages from Newborn-6. I was a Nanny for 6 months supporting a lovley family of 3 become 4. 2 little girls aged Newborn and 15 months.

Alongside my work in Early Years, I volunteer with my local Scout Group as a Squirrel Leader, providing Scouting opportunities for children aged 4–6. I also support SEND across the group, helping to make activities, events and camps as accessible and inclusive as possible.

I hold a valid DBS, Paediatric First Aid and level 2 in early years qualifications, and I’m always looking for opportunities to continue developing my knowledge and skills, particularly around SEND and inclusive practice.

Outside of work, Scouting is a huge part of my life, and I love being able to use both my professional and voluntary experience to help children build confidence, independence and new skills.
