About Me
Hi I’m Ellie, I'd love to fill your family’s life with fun, creativity, and assistance in daily home life and child care. I grew up in a small village in Cambridge and spent my childhood outside playing football and making dens from dawn until dusk. I enjoy taking my dog to the beach and exploring new places, i took the plunge in 2019 and flew to Australia with a 1 way ticket. My 6 months travelling was filled with sky dives, sailing trips, surfing, hikes, helicopter trips and a whole new perspective on life!
My Experience
I have worked with children since the age of 16, I spent 4 years working for the YMCA supporting children between the ages of 8-16. I have worked in an Early Years setting for the last 7 years with children aged 1-4 and the last 2.5 years as the leader of the Baby Room (aged 1-2) supporting children’s wellbeing, delivering and maintaining high quality care that stimulates children and aids each child's personal development.
After having a break and spending 6 months travelling Australia and New Zealand I decided to undertake a Level 3 Forest School Leader Qualification in early 2020 and bring my passion for the outdoors into my everyday life. Forest School is a child led and multi-sensory approach to self development and skill development and I believe that through play and exploration children develop confidence and self esteem in a nurturing environment. The outdoor environment allows the child's full capacity to be respected; enabling them to unleash their curiosity in the world around them and I have really enjoyed sharing these discoveries and experiences with the children in my care over the last few years.
