My Experience

In a previous nanny role, I cared for two wonderful siblings — a little boy from just 4 months old through to 3.5 years, alongside his 5-year-old sister. This long-term position allowed me to support the baby through key early milestones including weaning, mobility, language development, and establishing consistent routines, while also engaging his older sister with creative play, school support, and confidence-building activities. Building a close bond with both children and their family was incredibly rewarding, and I took pride in creating a nurturing, stimulating environment where they felt secure and encouraged to grow.

I also gained valuable nursery experience working as a Room Leader in a baby and toddler room (10–28 months) within a setting caring for children aged 6 months to 4 years. In this role, I was responsible for guiding each child’s learning and development by observing their interests, recognising their current abilities, and planning meaningful next steps. I worked closely with children during child-led activities, supporting them to explore, problem-solve, and achieve new skills they were not yet able to accomplish independently. Through conversation, play, and observation, I helped build children’s confidence, communication, and curiosity while ensuring a warm, engaging, and development-focused environment.
