We are a busy, professional, and friendly family of four living in Cumnor, Oxford. We have two school-aged children (a boy aged 5 and a girl aged 9). We are looking for a proactive, organized, and caring individual to help run our home and provide after-school care. We value reliability and are looking for someone to become a long-term part of our family support system.
My Requirements
The Role: This is a full time position that balances housekeeping duties with childcare.
Hours: typically 45h per week (9am to 6pm Monday to Friday).
Term Time: Your day will begin with housekeeping duties (cleaning, laundry, organisation, and meal prep) while the children are at school. From 3:00 pm onwards, the focus shifts to collecting the children from school, supervising homework, and evening routines.
School Holidays: The hours remain the same, but the focus will shift primarily to childcare, arranging fun activities, and outings for the children, with lighter housekeeping duties.
Housekeeping responsibilities to include:
> Full cleaning of the property to a high standard.
> Family laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management.
> Changing bed linen.
> Cooking healthy, fresh meals for the children (and occasionally the parents).
> Organising cupboards, play areas, and managing household inventory (grocery deliveries/errands).
Childcare responsibilities to include:
> School runs (driving own car).
> Supporting the 9-year-old with homework and reading.
> Engaging the 5-year-old in creative play.
> Driving children to after-school clubs or playdates.
> Providing a safe, warm, and fun environment.
Essential Requirements:
> Driver with own car: You must hold a full, clean UK driving license and have your own reliable vehicle for work use.
> Local: You must live within a 30-minute commute of Cumnor (OX2).
> Experience: Previous experience in a similar role (Housekeeping, Nannying, or hybrid) with checkable references.
> Vetting: Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or hold a current one).
> Non-smoker preferred.
> Must be eligible to work in the UK.
