About Me
Hello I'm Lucy and I opened in September 2022 and provide a safe, warm, welcoming, nurturing, home from home setting in Biggleswade. A space where your little ones can learn and thrive through play and adventures.
With lots of time exploring in nature (I have memberships at the RSPB, The Swiss Gardens at Shuttleworth and the National Trust), visits to local farms, the library, soft plays, museums and other places of interest which complement our learning. We are lucky to have lots of wonderful parks on our doorstep and our own garden with plenty of space to play and enjoy our mud kitchen, sandpit and other activities.
I love creating lots of opportunities for your little ones to learn through engaging and inviting play set ups, messy play, arts and crafts, baking and music and lots of opportunities to read and explore books.
Kindness is at the center of everything we do and I have created a space where we celebrate ours and each others successes and differences. Where we nature our own uniqueness and everyone's voices are heard and valued.
I am a registered through a childminding agency. I decided to retrain as a childminder and become an Early Years Educator because I love the magic of watching the world through the eyes of children. Their innocence and innate excitement to learn and explore. The way they remind us daily to be in the moment, to stop and notice the small things, the tiny snail on the path, the muddy puddles to jump in. We can all learn so much from being in the company of little ones.
I am also a Mum to my four year old daughter who started school in September so it was important to find a career that would fit in with family life and a fulfilling role where I could help to make a difference.

My Experience
I am a registered Childminder with a childminding agency and have completed their comprehensive training in all aspects of the EYFS and safeguarding, passing my home inspection at the highest level (6).
In 2019 I founded the Rainbow Running Club a community for women who had experienced infertility and baby loss and I had the honor of watching the most incredible community of women come together to support one another through the most heartbreaking moments and it's been one of my proudest accomplishments. I organised in person and online events, (running/ yoga/ retreats etc), created merchandise, was interviewed for several podcasts, fund-raised for Tommy's and even appeared in a TV documentary. I learnt so much through the experience, the key points being the importance of creating a safe space where others feel heard and supported and being a part of a community and how life changing that can be.
I left my career in the Fashion industry in 2016 and have been a stay at home mum to my daughter since. During lock down I discovered a new found passion for creating play set ups for my daughter, I found so much joy in coming up with new themes and adventures that we could have from our home and in doing so rediscovered my creativity which lead me towards re training as a Childminder.
