My Summary

My Experience

After working in a nursery setting, I changed my environment to a home setting. Here I cared for two children aged 1 and 4 years when I started the role.
I completed the daily nursery duties, prepares and cooks healthy balanced meals. Take the little girl too activities, classes and socialises with other nannies. I learned their individual daily routines and incorporated educational play activities into the day. My duties would include dressing, cooking/feeding, bathing, cleaning children’s areas/clothes. I built relationships with other Nannies and parents, which have grown along the years and have helped form the children’s social circle. I moved on from this family as both children went to school full time and the family was no longer in need of a nanny.

My 2nd nanny job was taking care of a 7 year old, 3 year old and a 16 month old (which i took care of since birth)
My daily routines consist of doing school runs for the oldest two, and collecting them at the end of their school day. Though-out the day I have full time care of the baby, I take the baby to gymnastics classes and arrange a number of activities to help with all levels of her development. I arrange play dates with other nannies to help the children get the best socialising skills. I had sole charge of toilet training the oldest girl who is currently now 3 and fully trained day and night. I cook and prepare main meals and healthy snacks for the children. My duties include doing the children’s laundry, changing their beds, and keeping their rooms tidy. I have travelled with the children and the parents to their holiday homes and continued my daily jobs within their holidays.

I currently look after a 4 year old girl and 5 year old boy, I also help out with their two older brothers who are aged 13 and 15, however my main focus is the two youngest children. Within this job, I make the children's breakfast, lunch and prepare their main evening meal every day. I bathe the children and get them ready to hand back over to the parents in the late afternoon. The children are very active and it was a challenge to get them into a set routine as they never had one before. Before I joined they were looked after by their grandparents, so I am their first nanny. I have created a lovely relationship with this family. I was asked by the parents to create some structure within the family. Both these children now attend school first time so I do some house keeping. Within the school holidays I have the children full time. I start work at 7am and get both children ready for school I then collect them again at 15:00 and take care tof hem till 16:30. This includes, bathing, providing snack and helping with any reading and homework.

NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development
NQV Level 2 in Children's Care, Learning and Development
NCFE CACHE LEVEL 2 in understanding adverse childhood experiences.
