About Me
My name is Becky, I'm a Maths teacher by trade and parent of two wonderful step children and young baby.
I love teaching and my highest job satisfaction has come from helping young people achieve their light bulb moments!
When it comes to learning I really believe that everyone can succeed. This might look different for students based on their needs and goals. For some it may be building up confidence and learning to love a topic; for others it may be having that extra challenge to push their skills.
Whatever the situation, I strive to find out more about the person I am working with and develop a tutoring style that suits them best.
My Experience
I have worked in education for 8 years now across two vastly different areas. Over this time I enjoyed several roles including; Classroom Support Assistant, Behavioural Mentor, Faculty Cover Supervisor and Teacher of Mathematics.
My career has allowed me to enhance my understanding the dynamic between achieving acadmically and having SEN. From this I develop my own resources and approach to best meet the needs of your child.
Having taught across secondary schools I am very familiar with the KS3/GCSE content for both Maths and English.
Alongside my full time role I have previously tutored in Maths, English and GCSE resits.
My Qualifications
I hold a degree in Psychology.
I have attended various courses relating to Maths Mastery and Problem Solving.
I have A levels in English, Psychology, Biology and Law.
My GCSE's covered English, Maths, Science, Double Science, History, Religious Studies and Child Psychology.
My Availability
I can be fairly flexible as needed and will be happy to discuss this.
