Reviews I've Written

Reviews written by Alba. Please note that reviews represent the subjective opinions of other Childcare.co.uk members and not of Childcare.co.uk.

Lack of professionalism during the interview process by arriving late to the interview twice and, after agreeing to perform a trial with the baby and the consent on a potential offer, she disappeared and didn’t respond to the numerous texts. After talking over the phone, she mentioned not seeing any message (despite whatsapp confirming the read button) and she accepted to work with us and start in January. However after mentioning that we would be stop interviewing other candidates, she hesitated and mentioned that she would need one more day to accept as she was between two different offers. Nube never contacted us the day after…
Our mistake might have been to rush into the process given the urgency in having one person to start the following month - however, she never really empathise with our situation nor fully sincere.

Dear Alba,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. However, I must respectfully clarify several points, as your account does not accurately reflect what occurred.

Professionalism is something I take very seriously, especially during the interview process, as it sets the foundation for a strong and respectful working relationship. While it’s true that I was late to our first interview due to getting lost—a delay I immediately communicated and sincerely apologized for—I was on time for the second meeting, contrary to your statement.

From the beginning, we were both transparent that you were considering multiple candidates, and I also mentioned that I was exploring other opportunities. Following our first meeting on December 5th, you expressed your interest in moving forward with me and invited me for a second meeting to meet your child and discuss next steps. In your audio message dated December 8th (which I still have as proof), you state that you will like to finalise this agreement by having me a contract.

At the second meeting, you shared that your family would be going on holiday and that I would start only upon your return in middle of January, under a two-week trial period before a contract would be confirmed. This change in expectations, delaying the start date by over a month with no job security during that time was not mentioned at any point earlier and understandably required me to reconsider, especially given my need for a guaranteed position starting sooner.

I did attempt to follow up and communicate my final decision, but by then, I found myself blocked and saw that a negative review had already been posted. I believe this was premature and unfair, especially considering the positive feedback you had expressed earlier after contacting my references.

It’s unfortunate that the situation didn’t work out, but I maintain that I was honest and professional throughout our interactions. I wish your family all the best in finding the right caregiver.

Sincerely,
Nube
