About Me

We are two working professional dads based in Muswell Hill, looking for a warm, reliable and experienced nanny/housekeeper to help care for our two children, aged 4 and 2 and keep our house running smoothly!

My Requirements

Live Out Nanny
Housekeeper
After School Nanny

We are looking for someone who is genuinely caring and enjoys being around young children, but who also takes pride in running a household, enjoys cooking and keeping things organised. The ideal person will be proactive, practical and able to get on with things independently, while becoming a trusted and valued member of our family.

Hours:
* Monday–Friday, 7:30–6:30pm (55 hours per week)
* Occasional additional hours may be available/required by agreement.

The role will include:

Childcare

* Getting the children up, dressed and ready for the day & the post school/nursery routine including bath time.
* Preparing & serving simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children, encouraging good eating habits.
* Taking the children to and collecting them from their local school and nursery
* Supporting the children with toileting, hygiene and toilet training for our younger child
* Helping with homework and age-appropriate activities.
* Managing the children’s laundry, including washing, drying, folding and putting clothes away.
* Keeping the children’s toys and belongings tidy and well organised.
* Communicating with parents about the children’s day, activities and anything relevant to their wellbeing.
* Supporting the children’s development and encouraging good manners, independence and positive behaviour.

Housekeeping responsibilities

Alongside childcare, we would like the nanny/housekeeper to take responsibility for the day-to-day running and tidiness of the family home.

This will include:

General cleaning and tidying

* Keeping the main living areas clean, tidy and presentable on a daily basis.
* Vacuuming and/or sweeping floors and mopping where required + dusting and wiping surfaces.
* Cleaning kitchen surfaces, the dining area and appliances as needed.
* Keeping bathrooms clean and fresh.
* Emptying bins and keeping the house generally organised.
* Keeping on top of everyday mess rather than allowing it to build up.

Kitchen and meals

* Keeping the kitchen clean and organised throughout the day. Cleaning worktops, the hob and other kitchen surfaces.
* Loading and unloading the dishwasher & washing up where required.
* Working with us to shop for groceries and household items to ensure stocks are replenished.
* Preparing varied & nutritious family meals for both the children & adults.

Laundry and household organisation

* Managing the family’s everyday laundry, including washing, drying, folding and putting clothes away.
* Changing household bedding as required.
* Keeping wardrobes, children’s clothes and household linen organised.
* Keeping toys, books and children’s areas tidy and organised.
* Noticing when household items need attention and proactively dealing with them or flagging them to the parents.

Household support

* Helping with grocery shopping and occasional household errands.
* Receiving deliveries and putting items away.
* Keeping household supplies stocked and organised.
* Preparing the house for guests when required.
* Helping with occasional seasonal tasks or more thorough cleaning where time allows.

Important distinction

We are not looking for a traditional full-time cleaner. The housekeeping element is primarily about keeping the home clean, tidy, organised and running smoothly on a day-to-day basis, alongside the childcare.

When the children are at nursery/school or otherwise occupied, we would expect the successful candidate to use their time proactively to keep on top of household tasks.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

* Warm, caring and genuinely enjoys spending time with young children.
* Experienced in caring for toddlers and young children.
* Highly organised and naturally tidy.
* Proactive — someone who sees what needs doing rather than waiting to be asked.
* Comfortable managing both childcare and household responsibilities.
* Reliable, trustworthy and discreet.
* Calm and patient, particularly when dealing with young children.
* A confident cook who can prepare simple, nutritious family meals.
* Happy to take ownership of household routines and organisation.
* Flexible and willing to help where needed.
* A good communicator who will keep us informed without needing close supervision.

Experience

Previous professional nanny, housekeeper, nanny/housekeeper or similar household experience is preferred. References will be required.

A paediatric first-aid qualification is desirable, and a full driving licence would be advantageous.

What we can offer

We are looking for someone who wants to become a long-term, trusted member of our household. We will offer a friendly, respectful working environment, clear expectations and competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
