My Requirements

After-School Helper & Babysitter Needed– Cheam

Hi, I'm Kate! Mum to a wonderful, energetic and endlessly curious 5-year-old boy. We live in Cheam and our son is in Year 1.

Due to long-term ill health, I need some extra help balancing rest and my health with giving him everything he needs and deserves — so we're on the lookout for a warm, patient, fun-loving person (or two!) to join our little team.

What we need
- Regular after-school help, 2–3 days a week
- Ad hoc babysitting – sometimes a couple of hours, sometimes a later night
- Help during school holidays – part time, with flexible hours

About our son
He has a huge personality and a brilliant sense of humour, and loves sharing his jokes with others! He's happiest with pretend play (his imagination just keeps growing), building, being outdoors, climbing, hide and seek — anything active, really. He's autistic and has an EHCP, with his main areas of need being speech, language and communication, attention, and occupational therapy (sensory, motor and impulsivity). He also struggles with emotional regulation/dysregulation.

What we're looking for
- Lots of energy to keep up with him, patience and a genuine sense of humour – this one's essential!
- A love of learning about the world alongside him
- SEN experience would be a bonus but isn't essential – we're very happy to share the strategies and activities that work well for him. We are more than happy to welcome someone who is keen to develop their own experience in SEN
- Comfortable with sole-charge care as well as care when I am at home too (During the day / after school I'm often in the house resting/sleeping in bed, rather than out)
- Happy to help with meal prep, and/or get him involved in it with you - this would be helpful but not essential.

Flexibility
We're genuinely flexible and keen to find the right fit both ways. We'd be just as happy splitting all hours (regular and babysitting) between two people rather than having one person cover everything. We can talk through days, hours and start dates to suit - all of it is flexible!
