About Me

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher (BSc, PGCE) located on the Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire border. I taught for over 10 years across Key Stage 1 and 2 in an outstanding primary school and have been running my own tuition business for over a year . I offer private 1-1 tuition for children aged from 4-11.

My Experience

I have taught across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with particular experience of Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 and have excellent understanding of phonics, the requirements of Year 1 phonics screening test and the criteria for Key Stage 1 and 2 SATS.

I have have experience of leading a range of subjects including Maths, English and Science as well as being a member of the school leadership team.

I will tailor sessions to each individual child. I aim to build confidence and understanding through a range of enjoyable and engaging activities. I will use the child's interests to motivate them and build these into sessions. Is your child into dinosaurs? Then we can write a dinosaur fact file.
Maybe animals is more up their street? Then we can calculate how many legs 8 giraffes have. In whichever subject we are covering, the aim is to build confidence and promote an enjoyment in learning.

My Qualifications

BSc in Geography form The University of Reading (2:1)
PGCE in Primary Education from University of Hertfordshire
Qualified Teacher Status since 2009

My Availability

I am currently fully booked for after school and weekend sessions. I have availability during the day to support home educating families.
