My Summary

My Experience

I’ve taught across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and have spent 10 years seeing exactly where children get stuck — and what happens when those gaps are allowed to continue.

I’ve led reading across a whole school, supported children with English as an additional language, and worked extensively with pupils who need more than the standard classroom approach. I’m particularly interested in the basics that everything else depends on: reading accurately and fluently, writing clearly, knowing key number facts and being able to work independently.

As a tutor, I work with children in English, maths and 11+ preparation, often stepping in where parents feel school progress has been too slow or where problems have been allowed to drift.

My experience also includes youth mentoring with the YMCA, Scouts volunteering and childcare. I’m comfortable setting boundaries, establishing routines and being the adult who calmly says, “No — we’re going to sort this out.”

* BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature
* MA in Education and Technology — UCL Institute of Education
* Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Primary Education
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Enhanced DBS check
* Safeguarding and child protection training
* 10 years of professional primary classroom teaching experience

My Availability

I currently have Monday afternoons available for regular tutoring or childcare, with some additional availability on Friday afternoons. I’m also available during the school day for home-educated children and can offer regular daytime tutoring sessions.

My Fees

• Tutoring from £60.00 per hour

I also offer 1-to-1 tutoring for £60 per hour, covering primary English and maths, reading and writing support, and 11+ preparation. Sessions are tailored to the individual child and draw on my experience as a qualified primary teacher and tutor.
