About Me
Hello! My name is Chris and I’m an experienced primary school teacher with nearly 9 years in the classroom. I’ve recently moved into tutoring and babysitting, combining my teaching expertise with my love of working with children in a more personal and flexible way. I bring a calm, reliable, and caring presence, and I enjoy making sure children feel safe, supported, and happy — whether that’s through stories, play, or a bit of extra help with homework.
My Experience
I have worked across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 as a class teacher, supporting children aged 4–11 in all areas of their learning. I’ve also led whole-school reading, developed strategies for children with English as an additional language, and worked closely with children who need extra support.
Alongside teaching, I’ve tutored children in English and maths, helped with 11+ preparation, and supported children to build confidence in reading. My experience also extends to informal childcare through babysitting, youth mentoring with the YMCA, and volunteering with Scouts.
My Qualifications
• BA (Hons) in English
• Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Primary Education
• Enhanced DBS check
• Safeguarding and child protection training
• Nearly 9 years of professional classroom teaching experience
My Availability
I currently have full availability, as I’ve just transitioned from full-time teaching into tutoring and babysitting. This won’t remain the case for long, so now is the perfect time to book me while my diary is open and flexible!

My Fees
- Babysitting from £14.00 per hour
- Tutoring from £40.00 per hour
• Babysitting: £14 per hour (minimum 2 hours per booking).
• For shorter bookings of 1 hour, a £20 minimum applies.
• Tutoring: £40 per hour.
It takes time to prepare for tutoring sessions and preparing resources. This is, of course, all included!

I have known this teacher for many years since he helped me tutor my grandchildren. They were both reading fluently by the time they were five years old.
I wholeheartedly recommend him to assist primary age children with any subject.
