About Me

I’m currently looking for some help with my children in the mornings and wanted to enquire about your services and see whether this is something you may be able to offer.

I have recently been offered a job which starts at 8am, meaning I would need to leave home just after 7am. I have four children aged 12, 9, 8 and 5, two of whom have additional needs.

My eldest daughter is 12. She is non-verbal and a wheelchair user. I would have her washed, dressed and ready before I leave, so she would only need a little help with things such as having her hair tied up and her teeth brushed. She would then need to be taken downstairs using the lift and settled on the sofa with some breakfast and a drink. She is able to finger-feed herself, so she does not require any assistance with feeding.

Her school transport collects her directly from outside our home at around 8:10am, so when they arrive she would just need to be taken outside and handed over to the school transport.

My other three children are aged 9, 8 and 5 and all attend Essex Primary School. My 8-year-old has autism. He is verbal but has limited language. He is generally very good at getting himself dressed when I leave his clothes out for him, but may need some help with buttons and making sure he is ready and presentable.

My 9-year-old is fully independent, and my 5-year-old is also very independent and can dress herself when her clothes are left out. My 8 and 5-year-olds would just need some help/prompting with brushing their teeth and doing their hair.

The three children would then need breakfast before leaving at around 8:30am to be taken to their school . Once they have been dropped off at school, that would be everything I require for the morning.

I completely understand that caring for four children, including two with additional needs, may not be something every childminder is able to accommodate, so I wanted to explain everything clearly from the outset.
