About Me
I am a 18 year old from Monifieth, Angus, currently studying History at the University of Dundee. I have a full, clean driver’s license, as well as my own car, therefore I am more than happy to travel with children in my car to clubs, pick up/drop offs as well as taking them on fun days out!
From a very early age I have been so passionate about wanting to work with children later in life as a Primary School teacher. After my Undergraduate History degree I am hoping to further my education to complete a Postgraduate Degree in Primary Education.
I currently live at home and travel into Dundee for University. After my Undergraduate Degree I am hoping to do a Postgraduate Degree in Primary Education, and become a teacher from there!
While at High School, I completed my Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award (currently completing my Gold Award). Since signing up for the award I have enjoyed the outdoors. Since my Gold Award has been put on hold due to Covid-19, I still enjoy going outdoors in my free time. I love to take my dog out for a lovely long walk, somewhere we have never really been before.
I also love going to the theatre, since being a little girl I have loved going to see shows as well as watching Disney movies on a rainy day!
My Experience
I currently help weekly at a local Musical Theatre club, with children ranging from ages 3 to 18, with my main experience being with children in nursery to those starting high school. Helping teach the variety of age groups musical theatre is something I am very passionate about. I love seeing them use their imaginations during drama!
As well as doing this weekly, I often help with holiday camps at Kindness Kids. Having the experience of working with children has allowed myself to gain more experience with a variety of different age groups. At the club, we read mindful stories, complete group activities and create some art work!
During my sixth year at Monifieth High School, I completed the Sports Leadership Award. This award allowed myself to work closely and create friendships with those apart of the ASN Unit of the school. We took part in weekly sports lessons in which allowed myself to plan activities for them to take part in.
I have also babysat a family friend before for a few hours. I really enjoyed spending time with the child for a few hours as we went on a walk, played on the trampoline and played Mario Kart!
Throughout my varied experience of working with children, I have a background of working with children that have learning disabilities.
