About Me
Hello All
My name is Sophie. I live in Rubery with my partner, Dan (DBS checked) and our two lovely little girls, aged 3 and 5. I am an experienced Early Years Practitioner, Qualified Teaching Assistant and most recently, a Registered Childminder.
I have worked in Primary Schools, Nurseries and Preschools - all of which share my love and passion for working with young children. I have many years of teaching experience as well as working with outside agencies such as Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists - to name a few!
My home is warm, cosy and welcoming. I will do my very best to ensure that your child feels safe and happy when in my care. We have a small upstairs playroom which is home to lots of various toys but also lots of carefully selected resources. To extend your child's learning, we have a beautiful garden area equipped with lots of quality outdoor resources.
From time to time, I will also be networking with other local child-minder's where we will visit local playgroups, soft play centres, local libraries, forest schools and trips to the farm. This will enable us to form positive relationships with our local community. We are also super lucky to have The Lickey Hills and Waseley Hills Country Park only a stone's throw away.
As a mum, I understand the importance of feeling involved in your child’s learning and development and for this reason I use an app called Baby’s Days. This will act as your child’s learning journey. It will enable me to upload photographs of your child, record observations and next steps, sleep times, nappy times as well as hold all of my policies and legal documents ready for you to view as and when you wish to.

My Experience
My experience with children began many moons ago, gaining work experience at a SEN School and Private Day Nursery. I have since then worked at numerous Primary Schools and Pre Schools across Birmingham and Worcestershire as a Qualified Teaching Assistant and Early Years Practitioner.
As well as this, I am also a proud Mum of two lovely little girls aged 5 and 3.
I have most recently completed a DSL Safeguarding Course, Level 2 Food Hygiene Course and completed Level 3 Paediatric First Aid. In addition to this, I have completed essential training in Asthma and training to administer an Epi Pen.
