About Me
I am currently studying Forensic Psychology with The Open University full-time and I am working with a family in the afternoon. I have 3+ years' experience working with SEN children aged 3-8, this was in a mainstream school, so I also have experience working with neurotypical children of the same age. I have lived in Hackney all my life, so I know London very well. I enjoy swimming, cooking and film.
Only looking for work on an ad hoc basis at the moment evenings and weekends.
My Experience
I have 8+ years experience baby sitting neurotypical children aged 3-10. I have 3 years experience working with children with autism in an early years, mainstream and specialised setting. I have a good understanding of non-verbal ASD and I’m able to communicate with alternative methods such as the AAC device and some makaton. I'm able to create a fun, happy and safe environment that aligns with the child's sensory and emotional needs. I am still in contact with one of the families of a child I supported in school and tutor him once a week. Building a great bond with the children is incredibly important to me and I think it massively impacts their progression and happiness. I also have a good understanding of children with high levels of anxiety and need for structure, routine and predictability. I have also potty trained.
