Hello, I am a responsive and proactive baby-led maternity practitioner and really enjoy helping families care and learn all about their newborn baby. It's a very special and emotional time during the first few weeks and I am here to listen and guide you and your baby into a routine that is based around his or her needs.
Babies feel secure when we listen to them and also when they have a routine; are feed, rested well, cuddled and loved and following thus, we find a contented baby. I feel when caring for babies it’s really important to have them actively involved in what we are doing together, and by providing your baby with my full attention, talking, eye contact, explaining what we are doing, they are being respectfully cared for.
Choosing a maternity nurse is a very personal thing and every family has different requirements and needs. I have worked in many countries and therefor with families from different cultures, backgrounds and practises. I am a positive and adaptable person and am sensitive to the way families wish to bring up their baby and will support you and help keep your baby safe, thriving and content.
I am very comfortable flying with young babies and have had several roles where I have flown with babies either on holiday or flying a baby back home after being born in another county.
I am confident and happy to be a sole charge maternity nurse and mainly have experience in this area with this but equally at ease working in a shared care capacity with parents taking the lead and me providing guidance and support when you feel you need more assurance or an extra pair of hands.
I have been a qualified Norlander for 26 years and my career has been centred on the care of children and babies from helping new mums with their premature babies to my oldest charge at age 17 years (she was 6 years old when I began caring for her and her siblings were 4, 2 and 8 weeks!) I have an array of experience with children of all ages, and so when introducing a newborn into a family I understand the changes in dynamics and also how important it is for older siblings to feel just as important and special as their new sibling.
I have taken various CPD courses, as I feel it's important to keep my skills fresh and up to date and so am currently working towards my Level 5 Maternity Practitioner qualification.
I have some wonderful references and all relevant certificates and checks.
Happy to email, Skype, WhatsApp or FaceTime
I would like to think I can give your baby the best start in life and by the time I leave, you will be feeling confident and relaxed with a happy content baby.
