Hello! My name is Ashaye, and caring for children has always been my passion.
Welcome to Shay's Little Stars; a childminding setting filled with positivity, care, education, and fun, where every child is encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive.
I am a registered Ofsted childminder, providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment tailored to the individual needs of every child and family. Based on Green Lane, my setting offers a spacious home with a secure garden and a dedicated nursery room designed to support learning through play.
We regularly enjoy outings to local parks, libraries, soft play centres, and other child-friendly attractions, all accompanied by my fully verified childminding assistant. My setting is also conveniently located close to local schools and other community amenities.
I take great pride in creating a welcoming environment where children feel happy, secure, and valued. I also hold a 5 star Food Hygiene Rating and provide healthy, nutritious, home-prepared meals, catering for allergies, dietary requirements, and cultural or personal preferences.

My Experience
I have over 11 years of full-time experience working with children. Before opening Shay's Little Stars, I worked in a nursery for four years before becoming a childminder, a role I have proudly carried out for the past seven years.
Throughout my career, I have cared for children of all ages, including babies from under three months old, and have extensive experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). I understand that every child is unique, and I am committed to providing personalised care that helps each child develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
I am passionate about maintaining high standards in every aspect of my setting, from creating engaging learning opportunities to providing a safe, clean, and caring environment where children can flourish.

Honestly, Shay has been amazing for us. Our contract has come to an end for now because I’ve paused work, but I couldn’t not leave a review because of how much of an impact she’s had.
My son still asks me almost every day if he can go to Shay’s, which says everything. He genuinely sees her like family.
Before Shay, he was in nursery and mornings were really hard — lots of tears at drop-off and just a stressful start to the day. As soon as he started going to Shay’s, everything changed. Drop-offs became so much easier and the tears reduced massively. He was happy, comfortable, and clearly felt safe there.
As a parent, that kind of peace of mind is priceless. Shay is warm, caring, and just has a natural way with children.
I’d 100% recommend her to anyone — she’s honestly been a game changer for us.

Shay has been a brilliant supporter and very flexible she doesn’t put any pressure to make payment quickly. I will always pay her and not miss a payment as I am very trustworthy 😄 I just love the flexibility that she provides. I can just literally call her up and she’ll be ready for childminding sessions with my son. He loves it there! He loves her and he is always excited to go there. Never a moment where he will say he doesn’t want to go he even prefers to go to Shays, then going to a nursery setting. Shay takes him to the soft play and he loves it there. My son is 3 years old and she has been looking after him since 2yrs old.

My son has been with Shay for a year and six months now.
He was well settled and that was my biggest worry as he has never been left with anyone prior to her.
Shay made him feel comfortable and confident, taught him new things, allowed him to make new friends and has been an amazing influence on him.

My daughter has been going to Shay’s for almost a year now and loves it. She has made friends and gets excited in the morning to go.
We love how flexible Shay is with our schedule she is very accommodating and caring.

My 3 year old twins loved coming to Shay. It was their first time being away from me and they settled so well. Shay takes care to ensure they settle well, and took time to understand the twins individually. They were always kept busy, and I could as their confidence as the weeks went by. They have a speech delay and possible selective mutism, but this didn't stop them from having the best time, with structured and free play. They would always look forward to 'Shay Days' as we called it. Shay is such a natural, and her experience shows.

My daughter has been going to Shay since she was 20 months old. She has such a wonderful time there, playing with other children and doing fun activities, and would go every day if she had her way. It is a beautifully resourced setting. She has now been joined by her baby sister, who loves it just as much.
