About Me
My name is Claire and I am a newly registered (2022) OFSTED childminder after spending a 22 year career in accountancy. I live with my husband Lee, our 3 children and 2 cats. Ollie was born in 2011, Isaac 2014 and Penny 2019.
We live in a 4 bed detached house in Clifton Moor with a designated playroom and secure garden that backs on to the playing field of the Rawcliffe Rec. We also have the park and beautiful lake and nature reserve on our doorstep.
I have always had a desire to work with children so after having my daughter, returning to the office and juggling my hours to fit in around 3 children it seemed like the perfect time and choice to become a childminder.
My Experience
Although I have had a career in accountancy, I have many years experience of being around children, bringing up my own 3 and caring for my 2 neices and 2 nephews.
My Qualifications
I have completed a level 3 introductory training course in home based childcare which covered:
- Understanding and working with the EYFS
- Recording Children's Development
- Safeguarding Children
- Developing Children's Learning
- Leading amd Managing a Childminding Setting
Other training also includes:
- Paediatric First Aid
- City of York Safeguarding Children Awareness
- Food Hygiene
My Availability
I am available Monday, Wednesday-Friday 8am - 5pm offering term time only contracts. I will have availability from September 2024.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
Full day fees £45 include am/pm snacks.
Shorter day (6 hour minimum) at hourly rate

*Claire has been looking after my little girl (now 17 months) since she was 1 and has taken her on as her own. It is always daunting leaving your little ones with others and I just knew as soon as I met Claire that I could trust her and didn’t need to meet another childminder.
Claire now also takes my eldest daughter to and from school (CWR) who loves to go to Claire’s too. Claire has a lovely family who are very welcoming, kind and caring.
Claire always provides daily feedback and my little girls are always taking part in enriching activities that help to promote independence, resilience and communication and language skills. Claire provides breakfast, snacks and a wide range of hot meals throughout the week for lunchtimes which are nutritious and healthy too.
I couldn’t wish for a better lady/ family to look after my girls and would highly recommend Claire to anybody who needs a childminder in the rawcliffe area. Both of my girls thoroughly enjoy their time with Claire and are always so excited to go to her house on a morning.

My husband and I were hoping to find new childcare for our 2 year old after deciding a nursery setting wasn’t right for our little girl. Claire was recommended by so many childminders and parents in the area and after our first visit we were so impressed. The family home has so much designated space for the little ones and it really is a home from home for the children.
Claire has been great for our daughters development and is always keeping us up to date with lots of photos and daily routines. Our little girls speech has improved so much in such a short space of time, we’re so pleased.
You can tell lots of thought goes into each day with a wide range of activities. They often go to the farm, cute little cafes, playgroup, Homestead Park, soft play, music group and they even visited the local primary school to watch the easter play recently.
Admin and communication is superb and our morning drop off is so smooth and a happy experience for everyone. Highly recommend… 10/10 Claire, thanks for everything you do.
