Hello, my name is Charlotte and I’m the childminder behind Barkers Little Bears. I’m a mum of three, so I truly understand how important it is to find a safe, nurturing and happy setting where your child can thrive.
Being both a parent and a caregiver allows me to offer a home-from-home environment where children feel secure, valued and confident to be themselves.
At Barkers Little Bears, I offer a curiosity-led, child-interest-focused approach. I believe children learn best through play, exploration and meaningful experiences, so our days are shaped around the children’s interests and ideas. I carefully observe, support and extend their learning through open-ended activities, natural resources and hands-on experiences.
We spend time outside every single day, whatever the weather (with the right clothing!). Nature plays a huge role in our learning, encouraging curiosity, resilience and a love for the world around us. We also have a dedicated log cabin playroom which provides a calm, inviting space for imaginative play, small world activities, reading and creative exploration.
My aim is to provide a warm, calm and enriching environment where children feel confident, supported and excited to learn. I work closely with parents to ensure every child’s individual needs are met and that families feel happy, informed and involved.

My Experience
I have over seven years’ experience working within a nursery setting, where I supported children across a range of ages and stages of development. This role allowed me to build strong knowledge of child development, early years practice and creating nurturing, engaging learning environments.
Alongside my professional experience, I am also a mum of three, which has further strengthened my understanding of children’s individual needs, routines and emotional wellbeing. Over the past few years, I have been focused on raising my own children, giving me invaluable hands-on experience in supporting learning, behaviour, care and development in everyday life.
In addition, I have undertaken several smaller nanny roles, providing personalised, one-to-one care within family homes. These roles have helped me develop strong relationships with children and parents, and further enhanced my ability to offer flexible, responsive and child-centred care

I regularly update my knowledge and skills to ensure I provide safe, high-quality care that meets the needs of every child in my setting
My Availability
I am available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 7.30am–6:00pm,
Term time places available
Funded childcare places are available.
Holiday care can be booked and agreed in advance if required, subject to availability.
Early drop-offs from 7.30 can also be arranged by prior agreement.
