Childminder in St. Albans
My Summary
About Me
My aim is to make childhood magical.
I am an Ofsted-registered childminder based in the Camp area of St Albans (AL1), providing a warm, nurturing and home-from-home environment where children can learn, play and thrive.
I believe the early years should be full of wonder, adventure and joyful experiences that children will remember long after they leave my setting. We spend lots of time outdoors exploring nature, visiting local parks and places of interest, and learning through hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and imagination.
I am passionate about learning through play and following children’s interests. Whether we are baking, creating artwork, building dens, reading stories, singing songs or going on little adventures, I strive to make every day engaging, meaningful and fun.
Communication and language development sit at the heart of my curriculum. I believe that helping children to express themselves confidently from an early age provides the foundation for future learning, positive relationships and emotional wellbeing. Through conversation, storytelling, songs and imaginative play, I support children to develop confidence in their own voice.
My setting is a place where children are encouraged to be curious, capable and kind, while developing the confidence to explore the world around them.
My Experience
I bring a unique combination of professional safeguarding expertise and hands-on parenting experience to my role as a childminder.
Before becoming a childminder, I trained as a barrister and worked in family law before spending 12 years working in child protection and safeguarding within the police. Throughout my career, I worked closely with children and families, developing a deep understanding of children’s welfare, development and the importance of providing safe, supportive environments in which children can flourish.
Alongside my professional experience, I am also a mother of three children aged 7, 5 and 2. Raising my own children has strengthened my understanding of how children learn, communicate and develop at different stages of early childhood.
As both a parent and safeguarding professional, I understand the trust families place in those caring for their children. I am committed to providing a safe, nurturing and enriching environment where every child feels valued, supported and able to reach their full potential.
