About Me
We are in search of a nurturing and energetic Spanish speaking nanny to join our family for 25-30 hours each week – 2 full days Monday & Tuesday (e.g. 9:30 to 5:30), 1 morning (5/6 hours) and 1 afternoon (5/6 hours), specific days to be discussed as we are flexible. We are located 10 minutes' drive from Abingdon-on-Thames. It is essential you have your own transport (we will provide car seats and reimburse travel expenses).
Our daughter will be five years old in September, and our son is two. They have been exposed to Spanish daily from their birth – mum understands Spanish, her speaking is a bit rusty.
Our daughter will be homeschooled. She loves reading books independently, crafts, inventing stories, cooking and riding her scooter. She adores the outdoors, nature, and playgrounds. She is independent and aspires to do everything she can do on her own.
Our son is friendly and very interested in the world around him, especially his big sister! He recently developed a strong interest in cooking; he loves listening to big sister’s stories and loves his scooter too.
We are a calm family and endeavour to provide our children with a loving and caring environment. Rather than shouting we would always look to set boundaries in a nonviolent manner. We ask that anyone who cares for them consider their point of view and accept they are still developing.
My Requirements
You will be expected to communicate with the children exclusively in Spanish.
The ideal candidate will be confident planning and cooking the children’s meals from fresh ingredients. They are open to a wide range of flavours and cuisines.
You should be super organized. You’ll be expected to support with light housekeeping – loading/unloading the dishwasher, washing up after dinner and keeping the kitchen and play areas clean and tidy after use by the children. The children’s bedrooms should also be kept clean and tidy. No deep cleaning is required – this will be handled by someone else.
While the most important activity for our children is play and exploring the world around them, they are also expected to work through a light set of homeschooling materials, some of which you’ll be expected to deliver and support them with. We will be responsible for developing the curriculum, sourcing materials, and delivering most of the content.
Weather permitting, we would like them to enjoy some fresh air daily, going to playgrounds, playgroups or enjoying the garden.
You need to be comfortable with us being home.
You’ll be full of positive energy, calm, creative, physically fit and a non-smoker. You’ll need at least 5 years solid nanny experience working with children of these ages and be a confident communicator. You are first aid trained. You’ll have excellent references.
If this sounds like you, please get in touch! We’d love to find someone who can grow with our family and bring joy, structure, and care to our children’s lives.
