I studied Sociology at the University of Glasgow and graduated in 2021. I loved my time spent there and the connections I made. I hope to someday work in the charity sector where I can make an active difference in peoples lives.
My Experience
Since moving to Edinburgh I have worked in retail. I worked part time as a nanny for a family where my role was to take care of their 6 year old son; picking him up from school, making snacks, assisting with homework and generally making sure they were happy and having fun!:)
Throughout high school I worked in a private boarding school in the kitchens. Although I wasn’t responsible for taking direct care of the children, I was a friendly face and someone they could come to when they were missing home.
After school and work, I would babysit most nights. It became my little business as I worked for many families in the village with all returning to my services. I loved taking care of children, getting to know their personalities and watching them grow.
Prior to university, I took a gap year where I travelled alone to Sri Lanka, Thailand and South Africa. I spent a few months in Sri Lanka volunteering on various projects. I assisted in an orphanage taking care of infants and toddlers, helping to feed, change and play with them. I also provided more specialist care at a home for disabled women and girls. Although challenging at times, I really enjoyed my time there as I grew in confidence and independence.

My Qualifications
I have a masters degree from the university of Glasgow in Sociology. I also have several highers and advanced highers.
My Availability
My schedule changes from week to week but I know my dates well in advance and my retail job usually allows me to be quite flexible with my hours.
