My Requirements
LOOKING FOR A NANNY FROM JULY 2026 (Monks Eleigh, IP7)
Dear all
We’re looking for a nanny to look after our daughter, Iris, as our current wonderful nanny is moving on.
Ideally we would like the same person to look after Iris after nursery / school during term time, and for full days during the holidays. For our existing nanny, we calculate an annual salary based on these working hours and average that out so that you are paid the same each month, which gives certainty and consistency of income. It works out to about 21 hours a week. We use NannyTax, so everything is very easy to administer.
TERM TIME:
During term time, you would start at either 4pm or 5pm (we can be flexible on start time to suit you) and work until c.7pm, Monday to Thursday (at the moment, we don't need you to help on Fridays during term time). You would pick Iris up from her nursery in Lavenham at 4pm/5pm, drive her home (to Monks Eleigh), prepare and give her dinner and tidy up afterwards and then give her a bath and get her ready for bed. My partner, Dan, or I will then take over and put her to bed (we usually tag in at around 6:45 / 7:00 pm). From September, Iris will be attending school in Boxford - so the general routine would be the same, but pick-up times may be a bit different depending on after school clubs, etc.
HOLIDAY TIME:
During the holidays, you would start at 9 / 9:30am (again, to suit you) and work until c.7pm Monday - Thursday, and until 5pm on Fridays. You could be based at our house or yours, but of course we would love you to take Iris out for walks, to the playground, for trips etc. We're always happy to pay for soft play, visiting Hollow Trees farm, etc. I will prepare a packed-lunch for Iris, but it's up to you whether she has that at home or out and about.
Both Dan and I work in London, but I generally work from home 4 days a week so will usually be around when you bring Iris home (though I tend to keep myself shut away in the office, so as not to interfere!). Usually on the one day a week I go into the office Dan will be at home to put Iris to bed. However, there will be occasions when both of us may need to be out, so we may ask you to put Iris to bed and stay a bit later every so often. This will obviously be subject to your availability, but the ability and willingness to be flexible is key for us. We believe flexibility goes both ways, so (aside from actual annual leave) we are also always happy to try and accommodate requests for the odd early finish etc. We don’t get out much, but if you're ever keen to do any babysitting into the evening (weekday or weekend), we would also gladly take you up on that (paid separately)!
Iris turned 4 in January. She loves reading, drawing, imaginative play and being active. She is incredibly chatty, funny, energetic and loving and is a pretty good eater, so hopefully you would find it a pleasant job!
We would like to welcome someone as part of the family and give Iris stability, so this job posting is for a permanent position (ideally minimum of a year but long term is what we’re looking for).
You will need to have your own transport, be DBS checked, have previous experience, and be able to provide references.
Thank you for taking an interest. If this is something you would be interested in, we'd love to arrange a time to speak / meet so that we can discuss the position further.
Many thanks
Verity
