Progressed into a Floor Supervisor role with responsibility for managing staff, overseeing the daily running and planning of the nursery floor, and ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and organisation across all rooms. Alongside leadership responsibilities, led a pre-school room of 13 children, supporting their development through engaging, safe, and inclusive learning experiences while ensuring all health & safety and nursery procedures were consistently followed to the highest standards.
• Lead and manage a room of 16 children, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment.
• Oversee children’s development, wellbeing, and daily care routines across multiple nursery rooms.
• Support and supervise staff members, ensuring procedures and standards are consistently maintained.
• Work closely with the SENCO team and children with additional needs to provide inclusive support and learning opportunities.
• Conduct child observations and produce detailed developmental progress reports.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding children’s progress, wellbeing, and any concerns.
• Professionally manage parent concerns and complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
• Create weekly activity plans, nursery trips, and learning experiences tailored to children’s developmental needs.
• Created a toddler room curriculum focused on inclusion and diversity, celebrating important cultural and awareness events including Christmas, Eid, International Women’s Day, and other global celebrations.
• Lead weekly Forest School sessions for 16 children, organising woodland trips and outdoor educational activities that teach environmental awareness, nature care, litter picking, and exploration through play.
• Organised fundraising activities with children to support a local homeless shelter, helping children develop empathy, kindness, and awareness of different life experiences.
• Introduced age-appropriate learning themes and discussions, including homelessness, personal boundaries, privacy, online safety, oral hygiene, and community care, to promote empathy, awareness, and understanding in children.
• Deliver and lead parent workshops focused on behavioural management, emotional regulation, speech development and supporting children’s emotional development.
• Taught parents strategies from the ‘Just Right’ programme to support children in understanding emotions, self-regulation and co-regulation, and to develop healthy coping skills commonly used in educational settings, while reinforcing that all emotions are valid and normal.
