Santhi
Babysitter in London: Lewisham
My Summary
About Me
Hi! My name is Santhi and I'm 24 years old and an art student at UAL. I have also been working as a nanny, au pair and babysitter for four years. I am a kind, caring and trustworthy person and I believe taking care of children and having a positive influence on their development is a really rewarding job. I love art, books, and music and in my free time, I enjoy cooking, painting and drawing. All my experience in childcare has made me aware of the importance of consistency and compassion and a safe, comfortable environment. I make sure I provide these things for the children I care for.
My Experience
Currently, I am on my summer break, studying animation at university. I am looking for ad-hoc babysitting work or some hours a week, and then during term time a part-time position. I previously worked as an afterschool nanny for three children, boys aged newborn, 3 and 5 years old and I worked 16 hours a week. I did pickups for the older two, prepared and supervised dinner, bath time and bedtime. I was also managing behavioural issues, helping out with potty training, and changing nappies for and bottle feeding the newborn. Before that I worked as a nanny for a family with two boys, ages 8 and 1 for about 25 hours a week. I did the school run in the morning and afternoon and helped after school. My responsibilities included taking the children to and from school and nursery, keeping the older child occupied and engaged on long tube rides to school with lots of games, preparing small meals, helping with homework and the toddler's bedtime routine. As an au pair for an Italian family, I took care of a 2-year-old every evening on weekdays and all day on weekends. This involved a high level of responsibility. I helped to teach her English and organised all her activities, communicating with the parents and providing frequent updates, generally working with her parents to oversee her personal and social development. When I briefly worked as a nursery practitioner, I learned how to take care of babies from 6 months - 2 years old, including keeping constant watch over them, changing nappies, helping with meal times, doing storytime, and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
