Registered Childminder with Special Needs Experience Job in Guildford
About Me
I’m a mum of three boys aged 7, 5 and 1, so as you can imagine our house is busy, noisy and a little bit chaotic at times! But we’re a very relaxed and down-to-earth family.
My eldest is 7 and has profound autism and learning disabilities. He is non-verbal and needs quite a lot of support and supervision, but he’s also a really happy, cheeky and affectionate little boy. He loves playing, rough and tumble, Thomas the tank engine and generally having fun!
My Requirements
I’m looking for someone to basically be an extra pair of hands in the mornings before school. With three boys all needing to be sorted at the same time, mornings can be a bit of a juggling act!
(We offer double pay for the school mornings)
The main thing would be helping my eldest with his morning routine, getting him dressed and ready for school, helping with personal care if needed, keeping an eye on him and spending some time with him while I’m getting my other boys ready for the day.
I’ll be around too, so you’re not going to be walking into the house and being left to deal with everything by yourself. I really just need someone reliable who can come in, get to know my eldest so and become part of our normal morning routine.
You don’t necessarily need loads of experience. For me, being kind, patient, caring and comfortable around children with additional needs is much more important. My eldest needs someone who will take the time to understand him and build a relationship with him.
We’re really easy going and would love to find someone who fits in with our family and who my eldest feels happy and comfortable with.
The main hours would be mornings before school, but if you wanted extra hours there would also be opportunities for evenings, weekends and school holidays.
