About Me

Hi, we are a friendly, down-to-earth family based near Headley, Surrey, looking for a warm, reliable and proactive nanny to help care for our two young children (aged 1 and 3).

We’re a busy household with two dogs and an active, outdoorsy lifestyle, so we’re looking for someone who is happy to get stuck in, enjoys being out and about, and brings a positive, calm energy to the day.

The roleWe are ideally looking for support 4 days per week (typically Tuesday–Friday), around 36–40 hours, with some flexibility on days and start/finish times depending on our needs.

For example, there may be occasions where we need a Monday instead of a Friday, or slightly later starts (e.g. 10am–6pm), so we’re looking for someone who is happy to be flexible and work with us as our schedule evolves.

The role will be a mix of sole charge and working alongside me, depending on the day. Our children have a good daily rhythm, including established nap and bedtime routines, so we are looking for someone who values consistency and is confident following this.

At the same time, ours is a real family home, so the right person will be comfortable with the natural flow of household life — for example cleaners, gardeners, deliveries, meetings at home or the occasional change to the day — and able to stay calm, helpful and positive around that.

Confident caring for a baby and toddler at the same time

Proactive and happy to take initiative without needing constant direction

Able to balance fun and play with clear, consistent boundaries

Adaptable and relaxed in a busy family home where other people may be coming and going

Happy around dogs and including them on walks from time to time

Responsibilities

Day-to-day care of the children

Planning activities, both at home and outdoors

Following and supporting the children’s routines

Nursery duties

Preparing simple, healthy meals for the children

Nursery pick-ups (driver with own car essential)

Occasional babysitting so we can go out from time to time

It would also be a real bonus to find someone who is happy to help a little more broadly when needed — for example cooking an occasional simple meal for me or lending a hand if I’m having a particularly busy week. This isn’t a housekeeping role, but more about being part of a supportive, team-minded household.

Requirements

Around 3+ years’ childcare experience

Paediatric first aid (or willingness to obtain)

Driver with own car essential
