Hello! I’m a qualified childcare practitioner based in Dumfries, currently studying Primary Teaching at university. I have a real passion for working with children and creating safe, engaging environments where they can learn, play, and feel supported.
With over five years of experience working with children and young people aged 0-18, I’ve developed a warm, friendly, and reliable approach that helps children feel at ease. I’m available for a range of childcare needs throughout the summer - from one-off babysitting to more regular nannying-style support during the school holidays.

My Experience
I have over five years of hands-on experience working with children and young people aged 0–18 in a variety of settings, including nurseries, schools, afterschool and holiday clubs, and residential homes.
Most recently, I’ve worked as a Learning Assistant in both primary and secondary schools, supporting children with a wide range of needs in the classroom. This has included working one-to-one and in small groups to help with learning, building confidence, and promoting positive behaviour. I’ve also supported children with additional support needs and those requiring emotional or wellbeing support.
In earlier roles, I gained experience in nurseries and residential settings, where I supported children’s routines, personal care, and development in nurturing, child-centred environments. In afterschool and holiday clubs, I’ve led fun, age-appropriate activities like arts and crafts, outdoor games, and themed sessions.
My Qualifications
SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) – Qualified childcare practitioner with knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and best practice in early years and youth work.
Currently studying BA (Hons) Primary Education – Gaining up-to-date teaching skills, curriculum knowledge, and classroom experience through placements and academic study.
PVG Checked – Fully registered for working with children and young people in Scotland.
First Aid Trained – Confident responding to minor injuries and emergency situations.
Full UK Driver’s Licence – Independent and able to travel to families within Dumfries and nearby towns or rural areas.
