About Me
Hello, we have an almost 5 year old girl and newborn boy/girl twins. We are both healthcare professionals but Mum will be on maternity leave until early 2027. Dad has returned to work.
We are a calm, happy family and want someone who is as passionate about our children as we are. Our priorities are someone trustworthy, sensible, reliable and flexible (because of the nature of our jobs), who is nurturing and takes initiative. We are looking for that personality “click” and a helper/nanny who is a great communicator, both with us and our children, who will fit in and become part of our family. Our eldest daughter L is a kind, funny, inquisitive and imaginative child who loves reading, pretend play, singing, and dancing. The twins (K and F) have their own distinct personalities that are developing.
We are currently in the newborn/4th trimester trenches and Mum is responsively breastfeeding. We require a mix of regular night nannying (2-4 nights a week) for 3-4 months currently, then mother’s help from April 2026 and a nanny from end 2026 onwards when Mum returns to work. Please see below for more details of each role.
My Requirements
Night Nanny: Mum requires someone who will support responsive breastfeeding, which would involve spotting newborn cues to feed and bringing baby to Mum for breastfeeding. Other duties will include changing nappies and winding the babies (both twins have reflux/colic) which require them to be upright at least 30-45 mins after feeding. K has 1 formula feed overnight to allow Mum some rest, and F is exclusively breastfed as he has CMPA (he has special prescribed formula but we only use that if we really need to). Hours will be from 9pm - 7am, 2-4 nights/week.
Mother’s Help (From end March/early April 2026 but flexible on start date and can start a little earlier or later for the right person): Mum will be on maternity leave and present throughout, so helper will not have sole charge. Mum is very hands on but will need an afternoon nap to recharge from breastfeeding overnight. She basically needs another pair of hands while she juggles breastfeeding two infants (helping to change, burp, and settle them), help with light housework/errands (loading dishwasher, hanging out and folding laundry, cooking simple meals), school drop-offs/pick-ups for elder daughter L and keeping L entertained while Mum breastfeeds. Occasionally, the role will require accompanying Mum to hospital appointments for the twins etc. Hours will be from 8am - 6pm, at least 3 days/week. This has the potential to become a longer term sole charge nanny arrangement when Mum returns to work.
Nanny (From end 2026 onwards, can start a little earlier but no later than Jan 2027): Duties as per mother’s helper and additional planning of EYFS activities/outings, and working with Mum to establish feeding and sleeping routines, potty training, etc. Light cleaning/laundry for children only and cooking simple healthy nutritious meals for the children. Family have a cleaner so no heavy cleaning needed. Same hours/days as mother’s helper.
Plus adhoc childcare (with prior arrangement), and occasional babysitting on weeknights and weekends (with prior arrangement).
Essential: Enhanced DBS, paediatric first aid, required childcare qualifications (for night nanny and nanny positions, not required for mother’s help), excellent checkable references and CV. Non-smoker and capable of handling/preparing food for allergies (as son has CMPA).
Experience with newborns and twins/multiples desirable, but not essential.
Clean driving licence and own car desirable, but not essential.
