About Me
My name is Shelley Solomon, and I’m a 30-year-old mum living in the Cumbernauld area. I recently graduated from the University of Stirling with a Master’s degree in Psychological Research Methods.
I have a 14-year-old stepdaughter who lives with my partner and me part of the week, and in late 2025 I welcomed my own daughter. Motherhood has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I love spending my time helping my little girl learn, grow, and explore the world around her.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, including my nieces and my parents’ miniature Yorkshire Terrier. I’m passionate about creating a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment for children, where they can feel safe, valued, and encouraged to learn through play and everyday experiences.
At the moment, I’m not comfortable leaving my little one for extended periods, so I would be looking to bring her with me to any childcare roles. I completely understand that every family’s needs are different, and I’m happy to discuss this openly. Any arrangements can be reflected in my fees to ensure they are fair for everyone involved. lol
My Experience
My first job was an apprenticeship in a private nursery and for a year I was working with children ages 6 months to 5 years of age. I did not complete this apprenticeship due to my gran becoming unwell and I took over her care. I grew up babysitting for varies family members looking after children of varies ages. I have a PVG and a DBS check and I have recently graduated with my MSc in Psychological Research Methods. I currently work with North Lanarkshire council doing part-time cleaning alongside household help for a local family. My hours vary due to being term-time at my job so my availability varies depending on requirements.
My Qualifications
I have no formal qualifications in childcare but I have a PVG and DBS check and previous experience working with children.
My Availability
My availability differs so please get in touch. I work part-time in a term-time job and also support a family with household help.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
- Household Help from £17.00 per hour
