After-school SEN Nanny in Stoke Newington
About Me
Based in Stoke Newington, London N16, we are a warm family seeking a 20 -28 hour live-out SEND Nanny to provide respite care and support for our son. Training is available.
About us: Our bouncy son loves laughter and is tickled pink by jumping, swinging, swimming, songs, music and physical play. Buses, trains, cars and exploring new places are high on his list of favourite things. He is a non-speaking, autistic 12-year-old who uses a speech-generating device to communicate. He is toilet trained but needs some support with daily care activities and has a sensory aversion to many foods. Our family includes a mellow, loving golden retriever.
My Requirements
We are looking for somebody playful, attentive, child-led, with good intuition, communication skills and inspiration. SEN/Autism experience is a plus, but not a must. Most important is a loving, attentive manner and a passion to help our son grow and develop in a healthy manner.
Pay: £20 per hour, gross
Hours:
* Term-time: 3:15-7:15/7:30 PM weekdays.
* School breaks: Flexible and negotiable. Preferably more than 20 hours per week.
* If of interest, more (regular or ad-hoc) hours are available on the weekend, and/or for bulk cooking, babysitting and/or PA tasks.
Responsibilities:
* Organising the weekly after-school schedule
* Picking up our son from his specialised school
* Taking him to regular pre-booked activities (e.g., circus arts, yoga) or ad hoc adventures, such as trampolining or exploring a park/playground
* Returning home, assisting him with his chores, winding down and eating dinner
* Supporting his development, and organising/making learning resources as needed
