About Me

Hello, my name is Mia, and I am 23 years old. I am a fun, outgoing, and bubbly person with a genuine passion for working with children. I love helping little ones grow, learn, and develop their confidence in a safe, happy, and nurturing environment.

My aim is to provide high-quality, full-time childcare where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. I believe that children learn best through play, exploration, and positive experiences, and I enjoy creating activities that are both educational and fun.

I am dedicated to helping children develop essential life skills and preparing them for their next steps, including starting school. This includes supporting early reading, writing, counting, communication, independence, and social skills, as well as encouraging good manners, sharing, and building friendships.

I enjoy planning creative activities, messy play, arts and crafts, baking, outdoor adventures, and educational games that help children learn while having fun. I also encourage healthy lifestyles and active play to support children's physical and emotional wellbeing.

Building strong relationships with both children and their families is very important to me. I believe in working closely with parents to provide the best possible care and to ensure each child receives the support they need to thrive.

My goal is to create a warm, caring, and inclusive environment where children feel safe, happy, and excited to learn every day.

My Experience

I’ve worked in childcare for six years, starting as an apprentice and progressing to Deputy Manager. I’m fully DBS-checked, hold my Paediatric First Aid, and I’m a fully qualified Early Years SENCO. I also have a Level 2 in Makaton and lots of hands-on experience supporting children with additional needs.

I’ve spent a year in a secondary school working with SEND students, running small groups of up to 10 children to build life skills as well as foundational maths and English. I love creating calm, nurturing routines where children feel safe, confident, and excited to learn. Watching little ones thrive in their natural environments is why I do what I do.

What I offer:
A warm, reliable, and child-led approach rooted in early years best practice.

Strong SEND experience, including communication support using Makaton.

Engaging, play-based learning tailored to each child’s interests and developmental stage.

Practical help with routines, milestones, and life skills, plus homework support for early maths and English.

Clear communication with families and a professional, organised style from my leadership background.

I’m now looking to move into nannying so I can support families more personally in their homes. If you’re looking for a caring, qualified nanny who will champion your child’s wellbeing and development, I’d love to connect.

My Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 in Childcare
A nationally recognised qualification that provides the knowledge and practical skills required to support the care, learning, and development of children in early years settings. It includes promoting children's wellbeing, safeguarding, and creating a safe and stimulating environment.

Early Years SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
A specialist qualification that equips practitioners to identify and support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). It involves working with families and professionals to ensure every child receives inclusive and appropriate support.

Paediatric First Aid
A certified qualification that provides the skills and confidence to respond to medical emergencies involving infants and children. Training includes CPR, choking, allergic reactions, burns, fractures, and the management of common childhood injuries and illnesses.

Makaton Level 1
A communication programme that uses signs, symbols, and speech to support children and adults with communication and learning difficulties. This qualification enhances inclusive communication and helps promote language development.

Level 3 Safeguarding Children
Advanced safeguarding training that develops an understanding of child protection responsibilities, recognising signs of abuse and neglect, responding to concerns appropriately, and working in partnership with other professionals to ensure children's safety and welfare.

Level 3 Food Hygiene and Safety
An advanced qualification in food hygiene and safety practices, covering safe food handling, storage, preparation, and contamination prevention. This training ensures high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained, supporting the health and wellbeing of children in childcare and early years settings.

My Availability

I am currently in a full-time childcare role but am looking to branch out into nannying, as I believe I truly thrive in a more personal, one-to-one environment with children. I enjoy building strong bonds and providing individualised care to support each child's growth and development. As I am currently employed, I would need to give one month's notice to my current employer, but I am happy to discuss this further with interested families.
