About Me
We are a friendly family of 4: Mum, Dad and two little girls (age 3 and 1). We also have a friendly labrador.
My Requirements
Temporary summer nanny needed in Groton (near Boxford), Suffolk
We are looking for a nanny for 3 consecutive weeks over the summer holidays, 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday. The dates are 27-31 July; 3-7 August; 10-14 August 2026. There may be some flexibility re dates and timings for the right candidate.
The role involves caring for our two girls aged 3 and 1. Occasionally their two cousins of a similar age may visit; however, the nanny will not be responsible for more than two children at any time.
Duties include:
- Providing attentive care and supervision
- Preparing simple snacks (e.g. fruit)
- Heating, serving and clearing the children's lunch (all meals prepared by the family)
- Following the children's established routine (naps, meals etc)
Planning and supervising age-appropriate activities such as walks, baking, crafts and play
NB No cooking is required beyond simple snack preparation.
We are looking for someone warm, reliable and confident with young children. Responsible students or older teenagers who are hardworking and eager to learn are welcome to apply, as well as experienced candidates.
Please note we have a black labrador, so being comfortable around dogs is essential.
Pay: £14-£18 per hour, depending on experience.

Helena was our night nanny for 3 months immediately following the birth of our first child and she was brilliant. It was obvious from the start that Helena was highly experienced and competent so we could get some proper rest confident that our daughter was in safe hands. Likewise, as novice parents it was great having Helena to answer our (numerous) questions and give advice. We were particularly keen to establish a routine early on and to encourage the baby to sleep through the night as soon as possible since I was returning to work after 3.5 months. Helena provided great support with this including tips about how to structure activities and naps during the day so the baby would be tired at night, and gently stretching out the time between feeds. Much to our delight, by the time Helena left our baby was sleeping 11.30pm to 6am. Perhaps most importantly of all, it was a pleasure having Helena in our house - she somehow manages to be kind and good fun but also discreet and respectful of your privacy. We cannot recommend Helena highly enough.
