My Requirements

I'm looking for a childminder 1 day a week (possibly 2 depending on how things go) for my 6-month old. Regarding hours I'm looking for around 5 hours each time, anytime between 10:30-4:30.

Please note that 10:30 is the earliest start time. The reason for childcare is to mainly to provide me with respite to allow me time for myself. I'm also slowly picking up part-time work and so I will need to fit this around childcare.

I'm looking for someone who is child-led in their approach who understands the importance of allowing the child to guide activities e.g. letting the child choose activities and toys to support their best learning, play, and attention, not forcing rigid schedules and routines. When it comes to supporting communication it's important that the person doesn't use behavioural approaches that impose neurotypical social norms e.g. forcing the child to make eye-contact, withholding toys/foods until the child says the word etc, moulding play. As a Speech and Language Therapist this is not the best way to learn language nor is it affirming for a child. I'm happy to have a chat with you about all these things.

I would love to find someone who is trauma-informed (and who has a good knowledge of Autism) but it's not a requirement!
