About Me
I am an experienced secondary maths teacher and maths tutor, offering 1-to-1 maths tuition for KS3 and GCSE students.
I work particularly well with children who:
- Struggle with confidence in maths
- Feel anxious or overwhelmed in lessons or exams
- Need clear explanations and a calm, patient approach
After many years teaching maths in secondary schools, I have a strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum and the common gaps that can hold pupils back.
My tutoring style is friendly, structured, and supportive. I take time to understand how each child learns and adapt lessons to suit them. Sessions are designed to rebuild confidence, strengthen understanding, and help pupils feel more comfortable with maths.
I offer support with:
- KS3 maths
- GCSE maths (foundation and higher)
- Exam preparation and revision
- Building confidence and independent learning skills
Parents often tell me their child feels more relaxed and positive about maths after just a few sessions.

Availability is mainly after school and at weekends. If my own availability is limited, I may be able to arrange support with another experienced tutor.
My Experience
I have extensive experience teaching maths in secondary schools, including leading maths departments and supporting pupils across KS3 and GCSE.
I have worked with students across a wide range of abilities, including those who have lost confidence, feel anxious about maths, or need concepts explained in a clear and structured way.
This experience has given me a strong understanding of how pupils progress in maths, where misunderstandings commonly arise, and how to adapt explanations to suit different learners in a one-to-one setting.

PGCE in Secondary Mathematics (Qualified Teacher Status)

My Availability
My Fees
- Tutoring from £35.00 per hour
Online maths tuition from £35 per hour.
Fees vary depending on the level of study:
Primary maths: £35 per hour
Secondary / GCSE maths: £38 per hour
A level maths support may be available on request.

Craig has been Tutoring my 10 year old son and is an excellent Tutor. After being switched off from learning he now looks forward to Craig's lessons, and would do them every day if he could.
He has built up a really good rapport with my son and he looks forward enthusiastically to the next lesson
