I aim to provide a wide range of opportunities in the form of interactive, fun and challenging activities to enable children of all backgrounds and abilities to develop and learn through play in a caring, supportive and happy environment.
My Experience
I was born in London and moved to Surrey when I was 7 years old with my parents. My mother was a deputy head at a private nursery in Surrey and I used to help out which I loved. I moved to Bristol to study Neuroscience at Bristol university wanting to be a brain surgeon. I studied neuroscience, anatomy, physiology, pathology, psychology including child psychology. I worked for sartorius, a mechatronics company dealing with medical and mechanical equipment. I then got offered a job which I accepted as a personal assistant at a corporate investigation company based in Surrey which was such an amazing experience. When me and my husband chose to start a family, I decided to do a PGCE (post graduate course in education) in primary and up to secondary A level science so that I could be there for our children. I graduated with a PGCE at UWE in Bristol. I had to put my now eldest into nursery at 8 months full time and felt incredibly guilty, so I decided to do home tutoring for children in primary and up to A level science so that I could be there for her. When I was pregnant with my second, I found out about childminding and did the course which I loved. It was the perfect job with my background, experience, skills and qualifications and I could be there for my children and for other children. My girls love our extended family and are excited to welcome new recruits and I feel I have found the perfect work/ family balance. I have been a childminder for over 10 years now.
