About Me
Hello! I'm Kara, a qualified primary teacher, phonics tutor, and online reading tutor. I support children with early reading and writing.
If you are interested in reading help for your early years/primary-age child, especially with phonics, you're in the right place! I teach fun and interactive online lessons and offer small-group tutoring for children ages 4-7 and one-to-one sessions for ages 4-11. All of my sessions are 30 minutes long and I expect to work with your child twice a week.
My Experience
I am a fully qualified teacher with 24 years of teaching experience and hold an MA in Early Years Education from UCL. I am an English Literacy specialist and phonics expert and have run a successful online tutoring business for the past 3 years helping children to build their confidence in reading and writing. Additionally, I have experience working with dyslexic children and students with other learning differences and offer personalised learning plans.

I have limited availability for private lessons:
One-to-one sessions: Mondays 4:45-5:15 pm, 5:25-5:15 pm Tuesdays 6-6:30 pm, Thursdays 6:00-6:30 pm & Fridays- 4:45-5:15 pm, 5:25-5:55 pm
Group Sessions for ages 5-7- Wednesdays and Thursdays 4:00-4:30 pm, 4:45-5:15 pm & 5:20-5:50 pm

My Fees
- Tutoring from £40.00 per hour
One-to-one rates: I charge £48 for 2x 30-minute sessions per week
Paired-buddy (1:2) rates: £44 for 2x 30-minute sessions per week
Small Group (1:4) rates: £40 for 2x 30-minute sessions per week
Payments are to be paid every 4 weeks in advance or in full for the half-term (groups).
