My Requirements

We’re looking for an experienced and nurturing nanny to support us as we welcome our second child this autumn. This role will start in October during our toddlers half term holidays getting to know her routine, taking her out for activities and helping Mum with any pre baby prep. Once the baby arrives, you will provide hands-on support with both children alongside Mum at home and confidently take over care when needed. During Term time, our toddler attends preschool Monday–Thursday and is at home on Fridays, so time with her will be focused and engaging.

During the birth, you will live-in and be solely responsible for caring for our toddler while Mum and Dad are in hospital. Hours during this period will be longer and pay will be at an agreed hourly rate until the role transitions to the standard live-out schedule.

As this is our first time seeking assistance, we would like whoever joins us to understand that while we have set out times and responsibilities, flexibility will be important in the early weeks as we find our rhythm and establish a routine post-birth.

The first week or so after the birth will be a live-in arrangement (flexible depending on hospital stay and recovery), after which the role will move to live-out.

Your duties will include:
- Caring for a newborn, including feeding, changing, and settling
- Engaging our toddler in stimulating and age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors
- Helping maintain calm and consistent routines for both children
- Preparing healthy meals and snacks for our toddler
- Light nursery duties such as children’s laundry and keeping play areas tidy
- Driving our daughter to local activities (family car provided for duty use)
- Nursery drop-offs and pick-ups for our toddler

About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Warm, patient, and highly organised
- Experienced with both babies and toddlers
- Confident stepping in independently when needed
- Flexible, especially in the early weeks
- Comfortable around a small dog

Details
- Duration: Starting from 20th October with a few meet-and-greet sessions to get to know us and our toddler, the hours below will run until the end of January 2026, with the intention of continuing on a part-time basis thereafter.
- Hours before Mum and Dad go into hospital for birth and after initial post-birth period:
o Monday–Thursday: 7am–11am & 4pm–7pm
o Friday: 9am–5pm
o No coverage required on Saturdays or Sundays
- Location: Edlesborough, Buckinghamshire
- Accommodation: Live out pre-birth, live-in for the first week post birth (or longer if required), then live-out
- Driving: Family car provided for work use
- Pets: One small dog
- Additional hours: Babysitting available, paid as mutually agreed overtime
