Hi, I am Amy. I am 25 years old and I am a trained primary school teacher. Some of my hobbies include music, camping, being in the outdoors and spending time with family. I am a bubbly, organised and nurturing individual with children’s needs and interest at the root of all my work. I am passionate about providing exceptional caring and experiences to children and young people whilst making them feel safe, comfortable and happy.
My Experience
As a trained primary school teacher the heart of all my experience comes from my training and day to day profession. Throughout my training I experienced working in special needs resources within mainstream schools and also specialist schools who catered for children of all need.
My career began working as play leader in a nursery, a job which I thoroughly enjoyed as I take so much gratitude from being a part of child’s educational journey. During my time in this role, I became a key worker for a child with an ASD and worked closely with him to help ensure all his needs were met.
From there I went on become a primary teacher within the Scottish Borders. Here I have taught multi composite classes of P1-3, composite classes of P4/5 and P5/6 as well straight P6 and P1. I have broad spectrum of experience across all stages and knowledge and experience of teaching all curriculum areas at all primary levels. In my most recent role as a P1 teacher there has been a shift in emphasis on play within the P1 setting and I believe it is here that my professional development will truly grow.

My Availability
As I work full time as a primary school teacher my availability is limited to after school times. I also teacher a fitness class so there are some evenings I am not available as indicated below.
