My Summary

My Experience

I began working with children at the age of sixteen volunteering at my local children’s centre whilst at school. I’ve worked with children up to the age of five years, but have primarily spent time in the baby and pre-school rooms within the nurseries. I have enjoyed the different challenges and methods of working with both of these age groups. For example: the priority when looking after babies is to provide a warm, loving and secure environment and when looking after pre-school children this has to be supplemented with preparing them for school in terms of both social and educational aspects.

The roles I have held include an Apprentice, Early Years Educator and Room Leader. At Fennies Day Nursery I was promoted to Room Leader within a year. I have had a number of key children throughout both nursery jobs for which I am wholly responsible. I have enjoyed building strong relationships and bonds with these children and their parents. As a Room Leader my responsibilities included: managing a small team, creating fun and engaging activities for all children and being the first point of contact for any issues arising with both staff and parents.

My Availability

I work full time at a nursery four days a week and so am available Tuesdays and weekends.
