About Me

I’m Marie, an Ofsted registered Childminder serving the Mapplewell area of Barnsley. I feel truly privileged to work with children and their families, I enjoy creating learning and development opportunities and seeing children hit their milestones while immerse themselves in their play and learning. I offer many adult led activities which are carefully planned to meet each child’s needs. We indulge in all manner of play, role play, dress up, sensory, music, construction, messy play, Arts and crafts and STEM. Children also get plenty of chance to engage in child led play (free choice) and outdoor play.

My Experience

I have worked with children in a number of capacities, I did my placement training in school settings in a teaching assistant role for children aged 5/6years. I also worked in the same role in a Nursery setting with children aged 3/4 years. I also have worked as a lunchtime supervisor with children of all primary school age but typically in KS2.
I’m also a mother of 3 with children aged 15years to 16months.

My Qualifications

I have a level 3 qualification in The children and young peoples workforce allowing me to work with children 0-19years, I have undertaken the childminding course and have completed the Safeguarding course. In addition I hold a level 3 Paediatric First Aid certificate and am currently on the waiting list to being a SENCO lead course.

My Availability

I am open from 7am until 6pm Monday to Friday, accepting government funded childcare places. I do school drop off and collection for Wellgate Primary School and Nursery drop off and Collection (pm session only). I am open during both term time and school holidays (not Christmas Day or Boxing Day, and I usually take 2 weeks holiday throughout the year in 2x 1week blocks but give my parents plenty of notice to arrange cover).

My Fees

Childminding from £5.00 per hour

I charge £5 per hour including all meals, snacks, drinks and outings that your child hours cover.
If your child is ill or on holiday during there contracted hours than I charge half.
If I’m unable to open due to illness or holiday then no fee is charged.

My Local Schools

I provide drop offs and pick ups at Wellgate Primary School
